The bar has been raised at Conner Prairie for the breakfast with the Easter Bunny. No, I am not talking about just the waffle bar but the whole event was egg-cellent. This was our fifth time here for this event plus way too many to count other times. Our family has always enjoyed each and every time we have visited here.
Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
We have attended so many holiday and themed meals in the past at various locations around Indianapolis and Fort Wayne. Plus I am a huge party planner and blogger of all things celebration so this event checks all the boxes for must haves. From the food to the activities and even the man of the hour himself, the Easter Bunny.
During breakfast, you can decide how you would like to spend your time and in what order. For us, we must get the little guys fed to be happy for pictures. The food was amazing and included just about everything you could want even a waffle bar. They served French toast, eggs, fruit, biscuits and gravy, and every kind of breakfast meat. There was even a build your own yogurt parfait station. You really can’t go away hungry.
The Easter bunny had his own egg-ceptional set up with backdrop and tons of decorations. Each family got an ample amount of time to take photos with their own camera or smartphone. To be honest, we went up twice this time because we forgot to invite the grandparents up for a picture and one of the boys decided to dab in every photo. E.B. also gave each child an egg with a prize inside.
For the activity, each kid decorated their own cookie. They were given a sugar cookie at a table with bags of icing and sprinkles ready to decorate. My boys usually end up with icing everywhere so we saved this for last.
Easter Extravaganza
After the bunny breakfast, you can stay for a day filled with all kinds of events including egg hunts. The egg hunts are usually separated by age for the little kids to have a fair chance too. Unfortunately this year, Mother Nature wasn’t very nice and the rain cancelled the egg hunt. Don’t worry, all the kids went home with a bag full of eggs. In one of the eggs, we found a voucher for 4 Headless Horseman tickets. This is one event on my bucket list!
Along with the the egg hunts, there were a whole list of activities from basket making to woodworking. My oldest son made a bird feeder in the Makesmith Workshop. The kids could make a car, bird feeder, or a shelf with hooks. He did a great job cutting the wood and even using a power drill for the first time.
While my oldest was busy in the workshop, our other boys were visiting with the live bunnies and playing in the Discovery Station. Even with the rain outside, there was so much to see and do inside too. Both boys really loved holding and petting the bunnies.
With over 1,000 acres to explore, we ventured out in the rain to the Animal Encounters Barn, Conner House, Loom House, and Treehouse. You could spend all day here and not experience all there is to offer. We spent a lot of time in the barn with the baby goats and sheep. There were a set of adorable goats less than 30 minutes old. In the Conner House, they took in all the history of how the food was made in this historical kitchen. The staff was very patient explaining it to my boys. In the Loom House, we were fascinated with how wool was spun and even more intrigued by how it achieved its colors. Bugs!
