Updating your front porch for summer with a fresh new wreath will really add some curb appeal. Making a seasonal wreath can take no time at all to do and even the people who say that they lack a crafty gene can do it. Plus the wreath that you make is much less than the one you can buy and it is customized to your style. Win…Win!
I will take you through a step by step tutorial to making this wreath. Don’t worry all the pieces were purchased at one store so no running all around town. You ready? Let’s do this!
The first step is gathering all the supplies, and like I promised, you can find everything at one location. Hobby Lobby is one of my favorite stores and where you will find all the items listed below.
Supplies: (feel free to mix it up if you want)
- 18’’ inch grapevine wreath (1)
- Hanging Eucalyptus (1)
- Eucalyptus Stem (2)
- Cream Hydrangeas (2)
- Vanilla Hydrangea (1)
- Ivory stem
- Black and Neutral stripe wire ribbon (1)
- Small wooden hi sign
- Floral wire
- Floral shears and wire cutter
- Hot glue gun
See pictures for exact product pictures and numbers.
Step by Step Directions
- Start with the hanging Eucalyptus and split in 2 (60:40). The thicker section will be secured with wire on the left side and the smaller section across the top. Position them end to end and overlapping a little.
- Next layer on top the Eucalyptus stems eynd to end like previous step and secure with wire. (You will need to cut the stem down some)
- Then attach the flowers with a hot glue gun. Leave a space in the top left corner for the ribbon.
- Use hot glue gun to adhere the hi sign to the bottom right
- Next make the bow (take your time) and use wire to attach it in the empty space between flowers
- Finally add the ivory accent stems randomly to each side of ribbon. Use wire to secure them.
This really only took me an episode of Grey’s Anatomy to finish. Plus this same wreath was sold online for $85 plus shipping and I made it for less than half that. Although you will want to wait for the 50% off floral sale week to buy your flowers and stems. I would love to see your finished product so tag #coffeeandconfettimom when you post a picture. I can’t wait to see how you make it your own.
