It is quite possibly every boy’s dream to get up close and personal with real Monster Jam Trucks. The sheer size of these trucks can’t be imagined unless you have seen them in person. With each wheel weighing over 600 lbs and the whole truck over 12,000 pounds, they live up to the name Monster. My boys, who can spend countless hours watching Monster Jam on TV, were beyond ecstatic to see them in person. For a limited time, Cedar Point has a temporary exhibit with these giants at Monster Jam Thunder Alley.
Wondering what all there is to offer at Monster Jam Thunder Alley? You will be amazed just how large this temporary exhibit is. Keeping reading to find out!
Monster Jam Trucks
Just off the Main Midway lies the entrance to the exhibit with a giant yellow archway. Passing through this archway leads to the biggest stars of Monster Jam including Grave Digger, Zombie, Max-D, El Torro Loco and our favorite Magalodon. They are all lined up on either side of the plaza. Take full advantage of a photo opportunity with each one and even climb inside a couple to see what it is like in the driver seat. My boys were amazed just how tall they really were. They each raced along to see everything. We learned so much about each one that we didn’t know before by reading the information boards on display.
Pit Stop Play Area & Garage
This area was like a big sand box with all the best toys. There was plenty of space to perform all the stunts with their mini monster jam trucks. Even make their own course and have fun tearing into it.
The garage portion was a great hands on section that allowed the kids to see just how everything works in these massive trucks. They enjoyed turning the wheels to see how the tires rotate or how the engine works. We believe that kids learn best by experiencing it hands on.
Merchandise & Build -A -Truck Tents
Who doesn’t love a souvenir to take home? My boys would of taken one of everything if I let them. You’ll find mini Monster Jam Trucks, t-shirts, plush truck pals, helmets, swords, backpacks, hats, and more. Some of these are one of kind memorabilia and not available outside Cedar Point.
Monster Jam Truck Ride
Last but definitely not least was the chance to ride on a real Monster Jam Truck. This had to be the highlight for the boys as they were beyond excited. Each person can ride either Magalodon or Grave Digger as it tears through a dirt track on a freestyle run with several jumps and donuts. This ride is free with admission like the rest of Monster Jam Thunder Alley but you do have the option to upgrade to VIP for $29.99 to skip to the front of the line. Plus you get to choose a souvenir between Build-a-Truck Kit, Monster Jam Drawstring Bag or 2019 Monster Jam Souvenir Guide. Totally worth it in my opinion! Each of my boys got the Build-a-Truck. We unfortunately ran out of time before they got hungry to build them in the tent area provided. They will enjoy building them at home just as much.
Cedar Point is more than the roller coaster capital of the world but an experience for the whole family. Our boys are not brave enough yet for the big roller coasters but thanks to special exhibits like Monster Jam Thunder Alley, they enjoyed it just as much.
