It’s the first week of Fall here in Indiana which means hay rides, corn mazes, and pumpkin patches. Our bucket list usually includes all this plus apple picking, Wild Zoo Halloween, haunted houses and much more. One of our favorite places to visit every year is Kuenhert Dairy Farm Fall Festival. It is actually their seventh year and it gets bigger and better every year. They really have a lot to offer the whole family.
NEW PEDAL KART TRACK
Ok, so this is a must do! Inspired by the Indy 500, this new attraction is fun for racers big and small. Just jump on a pedal kart and zip your way around the track. My littlest guy rode with daddy because his feet couldn’t reach the pedals. But don’t worry, there is a smaller track with pint-sized karts for the little members in your family, too.
NINJA WARRIOR COURSES
Test your skills on the ninja warrior obstacle course. My boys jumped right into this and loved the challenge. There is a big kid obstacle course and a little kid version. I honestly don’t remember the little kid version last year so that was new to us.
DAIRY FARM TOUR
Both educational and entertaining is the hay ride with a tour around the dairy farm. Learn about day to day life on the farm starting at the freestall barn with 24 hour robotic milking to the newly built calf barn. The whole ride takes about 30 minutes and gives you a good idea of what life is like at the dairy farm.
JUMP PAD, STRAW MOUNTAIN, AND OTHER ACTIVITIES
All the activities except buying a pumpkin for painting are free with admission. Everything from the jump pad, milk truck express ride, playground, wheel races, and even the new Toy Story themed corn maze are all included. Don’t forget to claim your free milk once you complete the scavenger hunt in the maze.
NUTRITION STAND
This hands-on area will let your kids get up close and personal with baby dairy calves and the diet that these cows receive. We had to visit the babies twice because I have a sweet spot for these little black and white beauties.
THE MOUSE TRAP
Refuel with one of their award winning Mouse Trap grilled cheese sandwiches with three different kinds of cheeses. It makes my mouth water just to write about it. Of course, we all had a Mouse Trap with a milk chug and finished with soft serve ice cream. Check out the entire menu here.
CORN PIT
I really didn’t leave this for last by accident. My boys just couldn’t wait to jump into the pit area full of corn. There is a slide and an assortment of dump trucks, tractors, and buckets to play with. But beware, your kids will come out covered in a white powdery dust resembling Pig-Pen.
PARTY RENTAL AREAS
How much fun would a party or reunion be at the fall festival? Kuenhart Dairy Farm actually offers some really nice areas for hosting your next event. Starting with a private tent with a private fire pit area to an open sided barn with 3 private fire pits and restroom facilities.
A couple years ago, we hosted a pumpkin train themed birthday party for my son here. The menu primarily consisted of milk and cookies with a variety of flavored milk chugs produced by the cows from this actual farm. Each kid got a pumpkin to paint and take home plus a fun trained themed favor. Along with the pumpkin painting, the kids got to explore all that the Fall Festival had to offer. It was an awesome party and the kids still talk about today. Definitely consider this for your next event.
So add the Kuenhart Dairy Farm Fall Festival to your Fall bucket list. The festival is open every weekend on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through October 27th. Admission is $10 for children 3 and over. Comment below with your favorite part of the Fall Festival.
