Disney North Pole Breakfast For The Elf On The Shelf

It’s no secret that we are obsessed with all things Christmas during this time of year.  Growing up I loved the holidays, but once I had my own kids it went to a whole new level.  I LIVE for things like this, the over the top, crazy elaborate holiday decor, staying up late thinking of where to put our elf, seeing my kids light up with joy, this is what makes my mommy heart overflow.  One of my favorite ways to bring back our elf on the shelf is with our annual North Pole Breakfast.  This year, I decided to combine our love of Disney and gingerbread with our elf, Snowball’s, grand arrival.  The result was a Mickey gingerbread theme.

TABLE DECORATIONS

What could I possibly decorate with?  You guessed it buffalo check!  I sure hope this trend sticks around a few more years because I can’t get enough.  The Disney items like the table runner, plush dolls, train, and cups all came from Disney store.  I found the red buffalo check chargers, napkins, and place card holders at Hobby Lobby.  The mini wreaths and adorable little sled were purchased from the dollar bins at target.  I am in love with how it all turned out.

MICKEY WREATH

This Pinterest inspired wreath was super simple to make.  All you need is 3 grapevine wreaths (1 big and 2 small), a few floral stems/picks, antlers, and ribbon.  I secured it all together with floral wire, twine, and hot glue.  From start to finish, it took all of 20 minutes.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE

This is where the idea started.  I was in my favorite store, Target, browsing up and down the isles with my Starbucks in hand when I came across Disney gingerbread house kits.  It was actually a whole section of Disney Christmas food themed kits.  I impulsively loaded my cart with it all.  I really have no self control when it comes to Disney.  It is tradition to decorate gingerbread houses every year in our house.  However building the walls of the houses with each kid is a challenge in itself.   Pro tip:  Constructing them ahead of time will save a lot of frustration.  They just do the fun part, decorate!

BREAKFAST FOOD

My absolute favorite food that I look forward to at Disney is their Mickey waffles.  Until now, I wasn’t able to recreate them at home.  Introducing the new Mickey waffle maker from the Disney store.  Y’all it makes 6 waffles at one time!  Williams Sonoma makes the best pancake and waffle mixes, so the gingerbread mix was perfect.   I added Mickey shaped sausages, Santa hat strawberries, Mickey sprinkle yogurt, and Mickey donuts.  I also found Mickey gingerbread cookie cutters online and made them for the boys to decorate too.

WAFFLE BAR

Waffles topped with your chocolate, fruit, and whipped cream sounds delicious, right?  I have always wanted to do a waffle bar with all the fixins. The toppings included chocolate chips, blueberries, strawberries, cherries, sprinkles, chocolate syrup, marshmallows, berries, and more.   My hubby even got into the fun making his waffles too.

MATCHING JAMMIES

If you have been around here for a minute, you know that I have a thing for matching pajamas.  I found these adorable flannel pants at Target for only $5.  I was content on using a black or red sleep shirt until I came across these personalized shirts from Premium Soft Threads.  A couple clicks on my phone and a few days later, they arrived in the mail.  This seller does great quality work.

So whether this is your first year with your new Elf or your are a seasoned pro, plan an exciting way for their arrival.  Have your elf throw them a festive breakfast sure to have them smiling ear to ear.  Check out some of our other breakfast themes like The Grinch, Polar Express, Disney surprise vacation reveal, and more.  Comment below on how your Elf on the Shelf makes his or her return for Christmas.

Happy Elfing!
