Hawaiian Shaved Ice Holiday Drinks

Take your shaved ice drinks to the next level with these festive holiday recipes.  Why not enjoy your favorite summertime treat year-round.  My boys live outdoors during the summer and come running every time I get out the shaved ice machine.  I am sure we have tried every combination of syrup from tiger’s blood to root beer.  So, we decided to try out the Hawaiian Shaved Ice Home Pro Shaver as an early Christmas gift for the boys.  It gets harder every year to pick out a gift that they will want but this is a hit at any age.  Go ahead and add the Hawaiian Shaved Ice Home Pro Shaver to your Christmas wish list this year.

As you review the following recipes, you will see the topping snow cap.  You may be wondering what that is exactly.  A snow cap is a delicious blend of sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk (we added a few drops of vanilla extract to ours too).  The combination takes the flavors of shaved ice to a creamy next level of goodness.  The idea roots back to tropical locations such as Hawaii where shaved ice stands are everywhere.  Once the cool frosty shaved ice is covered with flavored syrup, the crowning glory comes from the snow cap over the top.  My advice is don’t knock it until you try it.

Creamy Root Beer Ice Float

This is a twist on the favorite Root Beer float that we all know and love.  The root beer Hawaiian ice flavored syrup combined with shaved ice and vanilla ice cream is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 cups of Shaved Ice
  • Hawaiian Flavored Root Beer Syrup
  • Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Whipped cream
  • Snow Cap
  • Butterscotch syrup
  • Cherries

Directions:

To make this drink, start by filling the cup 1/3 full of shaved ice then drizzle on some root beer syrup.  Next add another 1/3 of the shaved ice and more root beer syrup.  Top this layer with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  Add the final 1/3 of the shaved ice and top with more root beer syrup, snow cap, whipped cream, butterscotch syrup, and a cherry.  We also added a root beer candy cane for a festive flair!

Frozen Snow Cap

If Elsa had a favorite drink, you bet it would be icy like this one.  For this drink we played off the popular Frozen movie.  Of course, we had to make it blue and snow like.

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 cups of Shaved Ice
  • Hawaiian Flavored Cotton Candy Syrup
  • Hawaiian Flavored Wedding Cake Syrup
  • Coconut flakes
  • Whipped cream
  • Blue Cotton Candy
  • Blue Sprinkles
  • Snow Cap
  • Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Snowflake Marshmallows

Directions:

First, use marshmallow fluff or vanilla icing to attach the coconut flakes to the rim of the glass. Then add ½ of the shaved ice in the cup and drizzle with cotton candy syrup.  Next add the second ½ of the shaved ice and drizzle with more Cotton Candy syrup.  Top the drink with vanilla ice cream, snow cap, whipped cream, blue sprinkles, cotton candy, and snowflake marshmallows.

The Grinch Iced Mocktail

Oh, bleed hearts of the world unite!  This drink smells like Christmas.  The Grinch is on repeat at our house all season long.  Who am I kidding, they watch it all year long — So a green drink was in order.

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 Cups of Shaved Ice
  • Hawaiian Flavored Lemon Lime Syrup
  • Hawaiian Flavored Watermelon Syrup
  • Cherry Cotton Candy
  • Gummi Candy
  • Whipped Cream
  • Cherries

Directions:

Start by filling ½ the glass with shaved ice and drizzle with lemon lime syrup with watermelon syrup in the middle.  Next fill the glass the rest of the way with shaved ice and drizzle lemon lime syrup around the outside and watermelon in the middle.  Top with whipped cream, cotton candy, gummi candy, and a cherry.

Hawaiian Ice Home Pro Shaver

We have owned several shaved ice machines in the past.  This one by far is the easiest to use with the ice blocks and push button shaver.  You can also adjust the blade to regulate the snow texture to your liking. The Hawaiian Ice Home Pro Shaver is perfect for birthday parties and to bring to summer cookouts.  Pro tip, allow your ice blocks or cubes to thaw for 5-7 minutes before shaving.  This will yield a fluffier snow.

We hope to come up with a few more fun and festive recipes so stay tuned.  Share yours in the comments.  Be sure to check out Hawaiianshavedice.com to order you Hawaiian Ice Home Pro Shaver and use promo code COFFEEANDCONFETIMOM10 to get 10% off.
