Items Needed to Make
Silicone Egg Mold – An egged shaped mold is essential for creating the iconic shape of the cheesecake eggs. This silicone egg mold from Country Kitchen Sweetart was the perfect size to create these cheesecake desserts.
Milk or Dark Chocolate Wafers – The chocolate serves as the outer shell of the cheesecake eggs, providing a rich and indulgent base. You can use a milk or dark chocolate depending on your preference. Great tasting chocolate really makes all the difference, that is why we use high quality chocolate. We used milk chocolate from Country Kitchen Sweetart in this recipe and it was so creamy and easy to work with. Country Kitchen Sweetart also has various flavors and colors of chocolate wafers too.
Graham Cracker Crumbs – Graham cracker crumbs form the base of the cheesecake egg’s crust, adding a deliciously crunchy texture and a hint of sweetness. You can either purchase pre-crushed graham cracker crumbs or crush whole graham crackers in a food processor until fine crumbs form.
Wind and Willow Cheesecake Mix – A cheesecake box kit provides both convenience and different flavor options, making them perfect for hassle-free baking. Some of the boxes just require a few simple ingredients like cream cheese and whipped topping. You will impress your guests with unique flavors such as this white chocolate cherry mix. Country Kitchen Sweetart has a wide assortment of flavors to choose from.
Edible Decorations and Easter Candy – These colorful and festive decorations are used to top the cheesecake eggs and give them that festive touch. Chocolate eggs (Cadbury mini eggs), edible icing flowers, sprinkles, and other seasonal candies can be used to customize the eggs and make them visually appealing for Easter celebrations. We found unlimited possibilities of decoration at Country Kitchen Sweetart.
Instructions
Using melted chocolate, fill each silicone egg mold with layer of chocolate. Ensure that each side has a even layer. Place in refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to set then repeat step for a thicker shell. Carefully remove shells from mold and place on a platter or plate.
In a mixing bowl, combine both graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Allow mix to cool so that it is not warm from the melted butter. Press a layer of the mixture into the bottom of each shell. Be careful not to press too hard. Place in refrigerator while preparing cheesecake filling.
Prepare cheesecake mix according to back of box with cream cheese and whipped topping. Mix together the cream cheese and mix first then fold in the whipped topping. Filled each chocolate egg almost to the top with the cheesecake filling.
Now comes the fun part, adding the decorations to the top. There is no wrong way to do this. We started with a chocolate drizzle on the bottom corner then added edible flowers, chocolate bunnies, whole and crushed cadbury eggs, and topping from the cheesecake mix. Your guests will be amazed!
