Spring is in the air!  It is time to start thinking about all the exciting Easter traditions including colorful eggs, the Easter Bunny, an egg hunt, an Easter basket, going to church, and spending time with family.  We incorporate all these and a couple more that we started a few years ago.  One is a giant egg filled with all kinds goodies similar to a giant egg Piñata.  The kids enjoy painting and decorating them but they love cracking them open on Easter morning!

10 Family Photo Styling Tips

It is family photo season and the photography sessions pop up this time of year like crazy.  Fall is the perfect time to get family photos done.  However, I know for some this can be stressful.  I can totally relate.  The pressure from getting the coordinating outfits just right to capturing that perfect photo for your next holiday card can all seem daunting.  If I am not stressed getting them all ready and to the location on time then I am stressed during the photo shoot hoping that they cooperate.  Then I say a little prayer that we got a couple good ones.  I am convinced that the photographers, I have used, work miracles.

50 Fall Bucket List Activities For Your Family

As the hot summer days give way to cooler temperatures, the leaves start turning beautiful shades of yellow, orange and red, and pumpkin spice fills the air and all your senses, you begin to notice that fall is here.  Every year it happens, so it is not surprising but for some saying good-bye to summer is hard.  I mean who doesn’t love the freedom and lazy days of summer??  However I am ready for fall.  Like, so ready.  I was the one that decorated my front porch and house before September 1st and got my first Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks on the day it was released even though it was over 90 degrees that day.  A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, am I right?!  Fall is the second favorite season only to Christmas in our house.  Being together as a family is the best way to experience all that is this time of year.  Here are a few ideas you can do as a family and add to your bucket list.

Kids love traditions and family rituals, and sometimes the parents might just love it a little more.  These traditions foster a sense of belonging, security, comfort, and just something to hold on to.

Traditions do not always have to evolve around holidays, birthdays, or vacations.  You are missing out on a whole lot of memories if you are just waiting for the next holiday.  You can create small everyday traditions to incorporate with your family that you implement daily or weekly.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL TRADITIONS TO WELCOME SUMMER BREAK

It’s here, the last day of school!  The kids can no longer contain their excitement and most parents are scrambling to get all the last week of school tasks completed.  The busyness is often compared to the week leading up to Christmas.  There are field days, field trips, and class parties!  The list goes on and on…

Welcome to the summer!  These days seem to go by so fast!  The kids look forward to the day they walk out of the school for the summer.  You as a parent have big plans to spend quality time with your kids.  Plans to do all the things you have envisioned that you would do with them.  The kids are only out of school for a couple of months and before you know it…it is almost over.  You then think back on the summer and wonder where the days went??
